Where Are Honda Sedans Manufactured?
Where Are Honda Sedans Manufactured?
It's a question shoppers ask all the time, and the answer says a lot about the brand. Honda sedans sold in America are built primarily right here in the United States, with a story that stretches back more than four decades. We hear this often from Sea Girt drivers wondering where the Honda Accord factory is today. Here's the latest from Lester Glenn Honda.
The Honda Accord Factory: Indiana Today, Ohio Yesterday
For more than 40 years, the Honda Accord was built at the Marysville Auto Plant (MAP) in Marysville, Ohio. The Honda Accord was the first Japanese-brand car ever produced on American soil, and over its run at MAP, more than 12 million Honda Accords rolled off the line. In 2023, Honda announced that Honda Accord production would shift to the Indiana Auto Plant (IAP) in Greensburg, Indiana, freeing up Marysville to retool for the next generation of Honda EVs. That move is now complete, and current Honda Accord sedans are proudly made in Indiana.
The Honda Civic Factory: Indiana and Ontario
The Honda Civic story is similarly grounded in North America. The Honda Civic Sedan is produced at the Indiana Auto Plant in Greensburg as well as the Honda plant in Alliston, Ontario, Canada. The Honda Civic Hatchback and Honda Civic Hatchback Hybrid, named 2025 North American Car of the Year, are primarily built in Greensburg.
Why It Matters
Honda has invested more than $20 billion in North American operations, and roughly two-thirds of the Honda vehicles sold in America are built here. That means shorter supply chains, faster delivery, and the kind of consistent quality that has made Honda a household name.
